While we're looking forward to exciting basketball games, I hope to see the enthusiasm and crowd support carry over to Coach Howland and our men's team, as well. His Bulldogs have five home games remaining, so let's pack the house for each of these last nine regular season basketball games in The Hump and help our teams finish strong!
On that note, we've got three chances in the next week to watch Bulldog Basketball at home. Our men get things started on Saturday when we host Georgia at 5 p.m., then they welcome Alabama to town at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Monday, our ladies will play in one of the biggest games in the history of Humphrey Coliseum as our No. 2 Bulldogs host South Carolina for a big-time, Top-10 SEC matchup. Tickets for the game are completely sold out, so I know we'll have a great crowd on hand to watch this one, and doors will open two hours before tipoff to help ensure lines move quickly. If you were unable to secure a ticket, the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN 2 at 6 p.m. If you are a season ticket holder who can't go, I encourage you to transfer your ticket to someone who can.
As you prepare your spring schedules, we are fast approaching the biggest annual weekend on campus with Super Bulldog Weekend April 20-22. We will be able to get our first look at Coach Moorhead's team when football hosts its Maroon-White Spring Game in Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday April 21 at 3 p.m. with free admission for all. The spring game will be sandwiched on either side by softball in the early afternoon at 1 against Florida and baseball that evening at 6 against Arkansas in the New Dude.
Coach Stuedeman's softball team also plays Florida at 6 p.m Friday and noon on Sunday, while Coach Cannizaro's Diamond Dawgs have their other two games against Arkansas on Friday night at 6:30 and Sunday afternoon at 1. As we get closer to SBW 2018, we'll share a detailed list of all events associated with the weekend.
Back in Starkville, Coach Greenan and the ladies of our women's tennis team have a doubleheader on Sunday to fill out a full weekend of athletic activity at home. Make plans to join us and cheer on your Bulldogs at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre at noon (against Samford) and then again at 3 p.m. (against UAB).
We appreciate what you do for Mississippi State Athletics and want to encourage you to get others involved. There are three things you can do to help the athletic department at Mississippi State reach its desired goals:
1. Buy Season Tickets
2. Financially Support the Bulldog Club
3. Get Others To Do The Same
Thanks for taking the time to read this update.
Hail State!
