STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State's first home tournament since 2014 highlights a 2017-18 women's golf schedule that sees the Bulldogs play in nine events and travel to five states and Mexico.
"We are excited about our schedule this coming year," Brown-Lemm said. "We have a balance of significant strength of schedule and various head-to-head events with east and west teams."
Ginger Brown-Lemm's squad will co-host the first Magnolia Invitational with Ole Miss Oct. 1-3 at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.
"It is an honor to co-host the Magnolia Invitational with the University of Mississippi," Brown-Lemm said. "Head coach Kory Henkes and assistant coach Drew Belt are great, and we are excited for our universities to have the opportunity to work together to represent the game and highlight what we have to offer."
The 11-team event, which is free to the public, comes as part of a fall slate that begins Sept. 4-5 at the Ocean Course Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C. State follows that tournament with the first of two trips to Oklahoma for the Sept. 23-25 Schooner Fall Classic in Norman.
The Old Waverly-hosted tournament marks MSU's only action in October and comes a month before the Bulldogs head to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, for the 2017 Battle at the Beach.
MSU begins the spring slate Feb. 4-6 as it returns to Orlando for the UCF Challenge, and it closes out the opening month of the schedule with a trip to The Woodlands, Texas for the Houston-hosted Dickson Invitational.
State returns to the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., March 2-4, and two weeks later ventures to Auburn, Ala., for The Evans Derby Experience March 18-20.
The Bulldogs wrap the regular season with a return trip to Oklahoma, although this time Tulsa is on the agenda as MSU competes in the Dale McNamara Invitational April 9-10.
The Dale McNamara Invite serves as a final tune-up for the squad before it travels back to Greystone Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., for the SEC Championship.
"While we have no seniors, we have solid third-year players who will help our young squad challenge for a postseason appearance."
Fans can meet the 2017-18 Bulldogs and get autographs as part of Fan Day festivities on Aug. 19. The event, held inside the Palmeiro Center, runs from 4-6 p.m.
