As Saturday approaches, I recommend familiarizing yourself with your parking location, traffic flow and schedule of events on Saturday and throughout the weekend. The easiest way to find that information and anything else relating to the game and the events surrounding it is to visit www.hailstate.com/gameday.
Of note, a reminder that Saturday is a White Out at Davis Wade, and as always, the Dawg Walk in The Junction takes place two hours prior to the 3 p.m. kickoff against Charleston Southern. Also, as we approach the game, be sure to join us in person or tune in on Thursday to listen to Dawg Talk at The Veranda with Coach Mullen, which begins at 7 p.m. A reminder, as well, that Cowbell Yell has been rescheduled for Thursday night, September 14, the week we host LSU and Bulldog Bash, which will make for an immensely enjoyable and action-packed weekend.
For many of you, this weekend will be your first athletic event of the 2017-18 year, so I want to remind you to check out Maroon Memories at www.hailstate.com/memories for a variety of opportunities to have unique Bulldog experiences and enhance your time with us cheering on the Bulldogs.
Before we move any farther into athletic events and reminders, I ask all of you to do anything you can to help those in need in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in southeast Texas and the surrounding areas who have been affected, and we are making sure our actions follow through with that sentiment.
Our coaches and staff from all of our athletic teams have put together packages of clothing and shoes to send to Houston and be distributed to those in need, while our football team will be wearing a special helmet decal this weekend in honor of those affected. Meanwhile, all of us can help easily by visiting RedCross.org or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation toward the relief efforts.
Be on the lookout this weekend for more ways you can be directly involved in supporting those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
VOLLEYBALL HOSTS BULLDOG INVITATIONAL
For our Bully's Kids Club members, Friday night against Tulane is the official BKC kickoff game, so be sure to bring your kids out to the match.
SOCCER CANCELED FRIDAY, PLAYS AT HOME SUNDAY
Also, we will host our Senior Day festivities before the game on Sunday beginning at 10:30, so be sure to arrive early to honor our hard-working seniors.
We appreciate what you do for Mississippi State Athletics and want to encourage you to get others involved. There are three things you can do to help the athletic department at Mississippi State reach its desired goals:
1. Buy Season Tickets
2. Financially Support the Bulldog Club
3. Get Others To Do The Same
Thanks for taking the time to read this update.
