STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State football cornerbacks coach and former Florida State All-American Terrell Buckley is listed on the 2018 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame has announced.
Buckley is one of 75 players up for induction from the Football Subdivision. The ballot was emailed to over 12,000 NFF members and current Hall of Famers whose votes will be tabulated and submitted to the NFF's Honors Courts, which will deliberate and select the class.
The announcement of the 2018 Class will be made Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Atlanta. The city is serving as the host for the CFP National Championship, which will be played later that evening at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Buckley, a native of Pascagoula, won the 1991 Jim Thorpe Award after becoming a consensus All-American behind a school-record setting 12 interceptions that season. A three-year standout at Florida State, he still holds the career record for interceptions at 21 and his 501 career interception return yards is still an NCAA record.
Buckley is in his second season in Starkville where he oversees cornerbacks and serves as recruiting coordinator.
