
Jessica Peng rolled in a birdie on her final hole to wrap the last round of the NCAA Athens Regional with an even-par 72.

ATHENS, Ga. – Jessica Peng showed the fight of a Bulldog as she closed her Mississippi State women's golf career with an even-par 72 in Wednesday's final round of the NCAA Regional in Athens, Ga.
"Jessica will go down as one of the best players in program history, and we are incredibly proud of her as a person, her work ethic and her commitment to get a degree," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "She will be successful no matter what career path she chooses."
Starting on the 10th tee for the second-straight day, Peng parred her first seven holes before tallying a birdie on the 357-yard, par-4 17th. She made the turn at 1-under after a par 5 on No. 18, the longest hole on the course at 488 yards.
Bogeys on the first and fourth holes moved her to 1-over, but Peng responded with four pars before wrapping her round with a birdie on the 443-yard, par-5 ninth.
With Wednesday's even-par round, the Taoyuan, Taiwan, native ended the regional tied for 37th with a 225 cumulative scorecard.
Peng, who received her MSU degree last weekend, wraps her season fourth in Bulldog annals with a 72.87 scoring average. Her 73.34 career average also rates fourth in program history.
She also capped her four years in Starkville Top 3 in school records in rounds in the 60s, rounds at par or better, lowest 18-hole score and lowest 36-hole score.
