I.J. Ready was named to the SEC's Community Service team on Thursday.
Ready Named To SEC Community Service Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. – In his four years at Mississippi State, senior guard I.J. Ready has learned the importance of balancing school, athletics, family and community service.
For his efforts off the court, the Rixey, Ark., native was named to the 2017 SEC Men's Basketball Community Service Team on Thursday.
This is the 19th consecutive year the league has recognized the accomplishments of students-athletes outside the field of competition.
"Mississippi State and the fans have been so good to me, and it's important I show my appreciation by giving back every way I can," Ready said. "And this is something Mississippi State puts a lot of emphasis on."
When free, Ready takes part in Reading Railroad, a program that reaches out to local schools in the Starkville are. He also volunteers for the TK Martin Fun Run and the annual Family Night.
In addition, he was a member of the Chick-Fil-A Red Kettle Campaign and served on the Maroon Madness promotion committee. He's also made several visits to the Blair E. Bastson Children's Hospital in Jackson.
During his career, Ready has appeared in 110 games and has drawn 81 starts. He's totaled 874 points, dished out 381 assists and collected 151 steals.
