STARKVILLE, Miss. – After finishing the indoor season ranked 21st in the nation, MSU's women's track and field program currently stands 10th in the nation in the USTFCCCA's 2016-17 In-Progress Report.
The Bulldog women's track and field program earned its highest cross country finish in school history last fall, finishing 15th. That was also the highest finish of any SEC team at nationals. The USTFCCCA gives a combined in-season score based off of finishes during the cross country, indoor and outdoor seasons. MSU currently stands with 37.5 points, which is the fourth-best score in the SEC behind Arkansas (24), Missouri (24.5) and Ole Miss (35.5).
"We are happy to see our women's program continue to reach new heights," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "Our cross country team had a historic season last fall, and to couple that with another great indoor season is fantastic. We hope to keep this trend going in the future and continue to build this program."
