Bulldogs Poised For Spring Opener In Florida

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off a two-month hiatus from tournament play, the Mississippi State women's golf team travels to Orlando to compete in the UCF Challenge, slated for February 5-7.
With unseasonably warm temperatures during the winter break, the Bulldogs were able to get extra outdoor practice in hopes of a strong spring season. Weather is expected to be ideal in Orlando, as the Eagle Creek Golf Course will play host to this year's UCF Challenge. MSU finished 14th a year ago.
"We are looking forward to our spring," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "Orlando looks like great weather, and the girls are working hard. We are going to focus on our routines and play the course in a positive and patient manner."
Senior Jessica Peng notched a pre-spring SEC ranking of 28th overall in the conference with a 72.4 fall scoring average. She looks to continue her success in the spring.
Sunday's action begins at 7 p.m. CT.
SEC foe Auburn, as well as SMU, will be paired with the Bulldogs for the first round. The trio will begin on hole No. 13.
