Regardless of the outcome this weekend, we are all incredibly proud of what the team has done so far this year and I think I speak for everyone when I say I know the best is yet to come with this talented group. Our Bulldogs play at Kentucky tomorrow night, then I ask all of you to join us at The Hump on Sunday afternoon at 4 as they close out the regular season. Let's help them celebrate the great season they've had, and who knows, we may also be celebrating an SEC Championship.

I want to make mention here how proud I am of our baseball team for the pride and determination they showed over the weekend, going 3-1 in the four-game stretch that included two games against a top-15 Texas Tech club. Particularly impressive was the way they fought through nearly nine straight hours of play in Sunday's doubleheader, including extra innings in the first game, to secure not just one but two comeback victories in the same day. It was a new experience for me watching our Bulldogs from this angle, and I am very proud of what I saw from Coach Cannizaro and the team.
We've got another action-packed, four-game weekend ahead at The Dude, so make plans to come out to the park as often as possible. We host Indiana State at 4 p.m. on Friday, then play a doubleheader at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday versus Marist and ISU, respectively, before closing out the weekend on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Marist.

Those who have been keeping track know how well our track and field teams have been performing in the indoor portion of their season, setting dozens of personal and school records along the way. After finishing the regular season with another impressive performance in South Bend last week, our teams are off to the SEC Championships this weekend. We wish all of our young men and women good luck and look forward to hearing about your successes.
As we look ahead to the outdoor season, a reminder that our home event this year comes March 17 and 18 as we host the Mississippi State Relays. Track and field events are an immensely enjoyable spectator experience, so I hope you'll be able to come watch and support our Bulldogs.

These two teams are yet more examples of MSU programs putting themselves on the national scene. Our No. 20-ranked men's team is entering the final weekend of an immensely difficult and equally impressive non-conference portion of the season, fresh off an upset victory over No. 7 Northwestern over the weekend at the ITA National Indoor Championships. Coach Roberts and his young men are back in town this weekend with matches against No. 22 Tulane at 3 p.m. on Friday and North Carolina State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Meanwhile, our women's team is riding a three-match winning streak, with a 5-1 overall record as they finish the non-conference slate this weekend, too. Coach Greenan and the ladies are hosting Minnesota today at 2 p.m., then play at Georgia State this Saturday before opening SEC play at home with two big matches at home March 3 (Auburn) and 5 (Alabama).
If you haven't yet done so, I highly recommend getting out to home matches to watch our strong tennis teams in action.

Tomorrow, February 23, is the anniversary of Jack Cristil's final call as the Voice of the Bulldogs, and this week The Bully Pulpit celebrates his life and career with an episode titled "Remembering Jack Cristil." Our host Matt Wyatt did an excellent job putting this episode together, and we will release it tomorrow to line up with the anniversary. You can find it by following our accounts at @hailstate on Facebook and Twitter, or by subscribing to "Hail State" on iTunes or SoundCloud.
