Children's of Mississippi Kid Captain of the Week: Josh McIntosh
November 08, 2017 | Football
Kid Captain is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to honor pediatric patients and celebrate their inspirational stories. This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Captain is Josh McIntosh of Madison.
Josh McIntosh – Madison, MS
In March 2017, Josh began having severe headaches. His local pediatrician sent him to Batson Children's Hospital where he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer located in cerebellum. Doctors told Josh's mother, Peggy, that he would require immediate surgery.
Thankfully, Josh's tumor was removed during a successful surgery. While he will continue to receive chemotherapy for some time, Josh and his family are optimistic he will fully heal thanks in part to the watchful care of the doctors and staff at Batson Children's Hospital.
Josh loves any and all sports. In fact, when he's in the hospital, the television in his room stays on one channel: ESPN. He's a huge fan of the MSU Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons.
Have fun at the game, Josh! Your friends at Children's of Mississippi are cheering for you
