Women’s Golf Inks Two Standouts
November 15, 2017 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Just days after completing a strong fall season that was highlighted by a home event at Old Waverly and trip to Mexico, Ginger Brown-Lemm inked two more standouts to an already-talented Mississippi State women's golf team.
"We are very excited about this signing class," Brown-Lemm said. "We have two wonderful young ladies with the sky as the limit for their golf careers. They are talented golfers who also exemplify the characteristic we look for here at MSU. We look forward to their immediate impact in fighting for spots on the traveling five. "
Hannah Levi
Brown-Lemm went down to south Mississippi to find one of the top junior golfers in the country in Hannah Levi. The D'Iberville, Miss., native is ranked as the nation's 26th-best player in the Class of 2018 according to Junior Golf Scoreboard, and is the second Bulldog signee from the "Magnolia State" since All-American and LPGA member Ally McDonald inked with MSU in 2011.
Levi prepped at D'Iberville High School and led the squad to the state tournament last season. She claimed individual medalist honors for the second-straight year with a two-day score of 133 while leading her team to a state runner-up finish, one shot shy of winner Tupelo.
She competed in the Mississippi State Bulldog Junior Classic and won with a two-day tally of 146. She also finished 12th at the prestigious American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Girls Championship.
In addition to being an all-state performer on the golf course, she is also an honor student with a 4.0 GPA.
Lauren Miller
In addition to adding one of the top players in Mississippi, Brown-Lemm also inked one of Florida's top talents in Niceville native Lauren Miller. The third-ranked player in the "Sunshine State," Miller comes to State sporting four Daily News Female Golfer of the Year Awards.
Miller, who will join fellow Florida native Katie Holt on the MSU roster, recently fired a 7-under 65 at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Girls High School Classic, a career-low round and also the lowest in the tournament's 23-year history.
Miller has earned four trips to the Florida state championship during her prep career at Niceville. She finished fifth at the event twice and also added a fourth-place showing and an 18th-place finish, making her Northwest Florida's first three-time all-state performer.
In February, Miller won the Florida Junior Tour Showcase by five strokes on Florida State University's home course. In the FJT Girls' 16-18 age group, she recorded the second-lowest 18-hole score with a 66 and the fourth-lowest 36-hole tally with a 138. Lauren has also fired five hole-in-ones in her career.
