Over the next few months, we will have over 100 chances to cheer on our many programs on campus, and just as many opportunities around the country to support them on the road. The weekends ahead are ones filled not just with one or two events, but with games and matches and meets easily crossing into double digits.
The weather turns warmer, the days grow longer and our support builds ever stronger through the spring semester, and I look forward to everything we have ahead of us.

After each of them spent a week on the road, our men's and women's basketball teams return to The Hump this week for more big conference tilts. I want to start by saying how proud I am of our women for the effort they gave and the toughness they displayed in a hostile environment at South Carolina over the weekend. While it wasn't the result we hoped for, I remain impressed with the way Coach Schaefer prepared our ladies and the fact that we took the No. 5 team in the country to the final possession with three of our starters on the bench at the end of the game.
Broadcast nationwide on the SEC Network, our men host Missouri in The Hump tonight at 6 p.m., then they travel to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to take on the Tide at 5 p.m. on the SEC Network.
On Sunday, I look forward to a great crowd as our women host Texas A&M for another important SEC matchup tipping off at 3 p.m. If you can't make it, the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network, too.

A big congrats goes to our tennis coaches for an undefeated opening weekend of play. Coach Roberts and our 20th-ranked men's team took down San Diego State University in San Diego, victoriously pushing through a weekend of rough weather. Back here in Starkville, Coach Greenan and our 24th-ranked ladies swept UAB 4-0 to start their season off in impressive fashion.
Good luck to both teams as they participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend this week. Our men will be playing in Lubbock, Texas, while the ladies head north to Ann Arbor, Michigan.

One of the marks of success during Coach Mullen's time here has been the prosperity his players have had at the next level after their time at MSU. This weekend, the great heights so many of our guys have reached will be on display in the NFL Pro Bowl. We love seeing our former Bulldogs do well and we are incredibly proud of K. J. Wright, Fletcher Cox and Dak Prescott for the honor of being selected to the Pro Bowl this year. With all three on the same team this weekend, it looks like Bulldogs around the country will be cheering for the NFC!

BULLY PULPIT WELCOMES TIMMY BOWERS
On this week's episode of The Bully Pulpit, former basketball great Timmy Bowers joined Matt Wyatt, a conversation you can listen to here. Beyond talking about his great career in Maroon and White, you can hear Timmy talk about his professional career in Europe, which is still going strong.
