STARKVILLE, Miss. – Conference championship berths will be on the line this weekend as four Mississippi State Bulldogs take the field in the divisional round of the 2017 NFL playoffs.
Dak Prescott will become the first former MSU quarterback to start a playoff game when his 13-3 Dallas Cowboys host the Green Bay Packers at 3:40 p.m. CT Sunday live on FOX. Prescott became just the second player in NFL history to record 3,500+ passing yards and fewer than five interceptions in a season, joining Tom Brady who did it in 2010 and 2016.
Two Bulldog linebackers will be in action on Saturday. K.J. Wright's Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Atlanta Falcons at 3:35 p.m. CT on FOX. Wright is certainly no stranger to playing this time of year. It will be his 12th career playoff game.
Linebacker Benardrick McKinney's Houston Texans take on the New England Patriots at 7:15 p.m. CT Saturday in Gillette Stadium. McKinney recorded seven tackles last weekend in a wild card victory over Oakland. He heads into the weekend with 136 tackles this season, which ranks among the top 10 in the league. The contest will be televised by CBS.
Rookie defensive tackle Chris Jones will make his playoff debut at 12:05 p.m. CT Sunday when his Kansas City Chiefs host the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC.
