#FromStateToSundays: All-Pro Fletcher Cox Latest Bulldog on Billboard
September 23, 2016 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – Fletcher Cox has been one of the NFL's most disruptive defensive linemen since he entered the league in 2012, recently signing the largest non-quarterback contract in league history. The former All-Southeastern Conference star's roots began in Mississippi as he is the latest Bulldog featured on Mississippi State football's #FromStateToSundays digital billboard campaign.
Cox, a native of Yazoo City, will be featured all day Sunday on a digital billboard on Interstate 95 southbound in downtown Philadelphia. A battle of unbeatens take centerstage Sunday as Cox' Philadelphia Eagles host the Pittsburgh Steelers at 3:25 p.m. CT live on CBS.
Cox has recorded one sack and one forced fumble in two games. He's coming off a 2015 campaign in which he reached the Pro Bowl for the first time after recording a career-best 9.5 sacks and 104 tackles.
Cox finished with 114 total tackles (53 solo), 24.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks in 36 games (27 starts) during his three-year career in Starkville.
Cox is the third Bulldog to be featured on a digital billboard this season, joining Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Cleveland Browns fullback Malcolm Johnson. Nearly every NFL gameday this season, a Bulldog will be featured on a "From State to Sundays, Family" billboard in their respective home NFL cities.
A total of 11 Bulldogs are currently on active NFL rosters, including eight who started Week 1. Another two are on injured reserve and six others are on practice squads. All 19 of them played for Dan Mullen at State.
