Thompson Advances To Javelin Finals At U.S. Trials

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State's Curtis Thompson moved one step closer to earning a spot in Rio.
Just weeks after winning the NCAA outdoor javelin title at historic Hayward Field, Thompson advanced to the finals in the event at the United States Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Thompson took third in qualifying, hurling 249-10 on his opening toss.
The Florence, New Jersey, native advanced to Monday's final, where the top three earn spots on the United States' squad that will compete in the Rio Olympics in August.
