Bulldogs To Face UCF On ESPN2 To Open 2016 Charleston Classic

STARKVILLE, Miss. – When the Mississippi State Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in the 2016-17 season, they will face the UCF Knights in front of a nationally-broadcasted audience to open the 2016 Gildan Charleston Classic.
The Bulldogs and Knights will square off on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. CT in the third game of day one of the Charleston Classic. ESPN Events released details on Thursday, revealing the bracket-format tournament that features 12 games over three days at TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina.
Thursday's game will mark the first meeting between MSU and UCF in history.
Ben Howland's squad will face either Boise State or Charleston in game two on Friday, Nov. 18, playing at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU if victorious. Should the Bulldogs fall in game one, they will play at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
Teams participating alongside the Bulldogs in the Charleston Classic include the defending NCAA National Champion Villanova, as well as Boise State, Charleston, UCF, UTEP, Wake Forest and Western Michigan. Additional information can be found on the Gildan Charleston Classic website.
