Mississippi State Takes Its Turn at #SECMD16 Tuesday Morning

HOOVER, Ala. – Football season unofficially begins for Mississippi State on Tuesday morning as head coach Dan Mullen, linebacker Richie Brown, defensive end A.J. Jefferson and wide receiver Fred Ross participate at 2016 Southeastern Conference Football Media Day at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel.

Mullen begins his eighth season at State as the third-longest current tenured SEC coach. He's guided the Bulldogs to the winningest two-year stretch in program history. He takes the podium in the main media room live on SEC Network at 10:35 a.m. CT. He joins the SEC Network crew live on set at 9:55 a.m. CT.
Brown, a candidate for the Nagurski Trophy, heads into his senior year as the leader of the defense. The team leader in tackles with 109 a year ago, Brown is currently working on his Master of Business after earning his undergraduate degree in industrial technology earlier this year.
Jefferson led the squad in tackles for loss (13.5) and was second in sacks (5.0) in 2015. Ross has established himself as one of the greatest receivers in MSU history, setting a school record with 88 catches a year ago and leading the SEC in receptions per game with 6.8.
Mullen and all three players will make their way through each room, including stops with ESPN, CBS, Sirius/XM. Images and a video recap will be available on HailState.com later in the day.
MSU reports for preseason camp three weeks from today and begins practice the following day on Tuesday, Aug. 2. The Bulldogs open the year with back-to-back home games beginning with the season-opener against South Alabama at 11 a.m. on Sept. 3 in Davis Wade Stadium.
