July 01, 2016 | Athletics
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State Athletic Department, in conjunction with SIDEARM Sports, launched a new partnership Friday, unveiling a reconstructed HailState.com, the official MSU Athletics web site.
The revamped site features a look that allows fans to navigate quicker and find the information they need at their fingertips, whether on desktop or mobile device, as HailState.com will continue to operate in a responsive web environment. The new partnership also puts more emphasis on the social media aspect of Mississippi State Athletics, integrating features from State's official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts directly into each sport's homepage with an interactive "media wall". Videos and photo galleries are also featured more prominently in the new-look site and statistics buffs will find a more robust display of career, season and individual statistics displays moving forward.
"Our staff, along with the talented people at SIDEARM Sports, have dedicated several hours, days and weeks in transitioning HailState.com to the SIDEARM Sports family in recent months," said Scott Wetherbee, Senior Associate AD for External Relations. "Recently acquired by our multimedia rights partner, Learfield Sports, we expect our relationship with SIDEARM to give us the ability to present and communicate our message to our fans in many great new ways. We've heard great things about SIDEARM from our colleagues in the SEC and around the nation and look forward to working with them as our new partner for HailState.com."
SIDEARM Sports is the web provider for over 900 college athletics programs, including Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri and Texas A&M in the Southeastern Conference.
"SIDEARM Sports hopes the supporters, alumni, fans, student-athletes and staff of Mississippi State will enjoy what our platform allows MSU's staff to provide through HailState.com moving forward," said Jeff Rubin, President/CEO of SIDEARM Sports. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to start work with Mississippi State and help continue to develop their already-strong web presence."

MOBILE APPS
In conjunction with Friday's announcement, MSU Athletics announced that it has discontinued its official mobile apps that were integrated with HailState.com. Fans are now encouraged to simply visit HailState.com through their preferred browser on any mobile device to obtain the same news and information that was previously available on those apps. State's official Gameday app will continue to be available and fans are encouraged to download it for all important gameday information and interactive features. Also still active will be the Hail State Rewards app for MSU students.
HAILSTATEPLUS
Also announced is that HailStatePLUS, State's official audio and video streaming portal, will continue under the same name under the new partnership with SIDEARM. The most significant change with HS+ is that all content, including live audio streams of MSU games and coaches radio shows, will now be free of charge beginning this August. Fans can visit www.hailstate.com/plus to listen to live audio events and also access official on-demand audio and video content from MSU Athletics.
