Gameday: Msu Aims For Nine-win Season In Belk Bowl

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mississippi State aims for its third nine-win season in six years as the Bulldogs take on NC State in the 2015 Belk Bowl at 2:30 p.m. CT Wednesday in Bank of America Stadium.
The contest will be televised live on ESPN and WatchESPN.com. Clay Matvick, John Congemi and Dawn Davenport will call the action.
The C Spire Tailgate Show on the MSU Sports Radio Network goes live at 12:30 p.m. CT. Jim Ellis, Matt Wyatt and John Correro will call it on the network (check for affiliates here). Live audio is also available thru ESPN Radio.

The Dawg Walk will take place on the second floor lobby of the Hilton City Center Hotel at 1 p.m. ET prior to the Bulldogs' departure to the stadium. Gates to Bank of America Stadium open at 2 p.m. ET.
Dak Prescott has accomplished individually what no player in the program's history has done. On Wednesday, he will take the field in an MSU uniform for the final time. Prescott has been dominant in bowl games, accumulating 881 yards of total offense and nine touchdowns. He holds five school bowl game records.
He's on the verge of several more school records. Prescott needs one more rushing touchdown to tie the MSU career record. He's also four passing yards and 26 rushing yards shy of becoming just the fourth player in FBS history to throw for 9,000 yards and rush for 2,500 yards in a career.
His top target Fred Ross, the Southeastern Conference leader in receptions, takes a streak of four straight 100-yard receiving games into the contest. Ross needs 103 receiving yards to break the MSU single-season record.
The Bulldogs (8-4) are making their school-record sixth consecutive bowl appearance. To reach nine victories, they will have to do it against an NC State (7-5) squad led by senior quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Like Prescott, Brissett rarely turns it over, throwing only nine interceptions in his 737 career attempts.
The two teams are meeting for the first time since the 1995 Peach Bowl.
