Starkville, Miss. – Following a senior season littered with awards and accomplishments, Logan Chaney has been named to the SEC Women's Golf Community Service Team.
Along with a great career on the course, Chaney also received several awards, including the Spirit of State Award and the Frances Newsom Scholar Athlete of the Year.
“I am truly honored to be chosen for this award. I never thought that a few kind acts would be so generously rewarded,” Chaney said. “I hope to continue my commitment to service because I have been given so much, I have a responsibility to bless others just the same as I have been.”
She tallied many hours of community service, including recently vounteering at the Palmer Home, Wildlife Refuge, as well as helping the women of Aliceville women's prision go through mock interviews during a job fair day.
On the course, Chaney appeared in four tournaments this season. Her best outing of the year came at the Alamo Invitational, where she fired a 227 for the 36-hole event.
Her best round of the year was a 69 that came in a 30th-place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic.
After graduating from MSU, Chaney will continue her education in law school.
