MSU's Bailey Earns SEC Softball Player Of The Week Honor

The Lithonia, Ga. native hit .600 (9-15) while driving in five runs in five games last week. She also had a .800 slugging percentage and a.667 on-base percentage, and led the team with 12 total bases.
The sophomore began the week going 1-for-2 with a hit by pitch against UAB. She opened the Georgia series with a 2-for-3 day, scoring a run. Against Mississippi Valley State, Bailey went 1-for-3 with a run. She had a career day in game two against Georgia, going 3-for-3, including her second home run of the season, with three runs, three RBI and two walks ... Closed the series with a 2-for-4 day with an RBI. Against Georgia, she hit .700, with four runs, four RBI, two walks and a home run. Mississippi State improved to third in the division following the series win over Georgia.
State will travel to in-state rival Southern Miss this Tuesday, April24 in its final non-conference game of the season. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. (CT).
