
Williams Named To SEC Good Works Team For Second Time

Williams, a Katy, Texas, native and the lone representative of the class of 2006 for the Bulldogs, is an active member of Mississippi State's M-Club, a student-athlete community service organization, Callye has participated in several community service projects including Project Angel Tree. She was also a part of Bully's Book Blitz, a program designed to encourage and improve reading skills in the Starkville/Oktibbeha County area.
The M-Club joined with the India Student Association and the MSU Student Association to provide support to the Tsunami Clothing Drive, an assistance program benefiting victims of the flooding disaster in Asia. She also was an integral part of MSU's mission to deliver coats to residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast in January in response to Hurricane Katrina.
One of just four players to start in all 61 games for the Maroon and White this season, Williams currently ranks in the top 10 of seven career listings at Mississippi State including games started (217), at-bats (604), doubles (28), walks (47) and sacrifice flies (6). Through 224 games of her career in Starkville, she is hitting at a .235 (142-for-604) clip with 39 extra-base hits (7 HR), 58 RBI and 71 runs scored.
Having closed out regular season play with a three-game sweep of the Kentucky Wildcats last weekend in Lexington, Ky., Mississippi State will now wait to learn of its postseason fate. The NCAA Division I Softball Championship Selection Show will air Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CDT on ESPNews.
