MSU'S Series Finale With No. 4 Alabama Rained Out

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Due to heavy rains that blanketed much of the Northeast region of the state Saturday morning, Mississippi State's regularly scheduled SEC series finale with fourth-ranked Alabama has been cancelled. Per league rules, the game will not be made up.
Mississippi State (30-28, 4-22 SEC) continues to remain alive in the hunt for its ninth consecutive SEC tournament berth, but needs some help from select teams scheduled to play games on Sunday. Check back to www.MStateAthletics.com later this afternoon for further updates on MSU's SEC Tournament status.
The Bulldogs will return to action next weekend when the Maroon and White head to Lexington, Ky., to close out their regular season schedule against the Kentucky Wildcats (21-32, 4-22). The ?€˜Dogs and ?€˜Cats will open up their weekend series with a 1 p.m. EDT Saturday afternoon doubleheader, before closing out the set on Sunday with a single game that has also been slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
