Rain Forces Delay Of MSU/Florida Softball Series

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Due to heavy rains that moved through the Gainesville, Fla., area early Saturday morning, Saturday's regularly scheduled softball doubleheader between visiting Mississippi State and 16th ranked Florida has been delayed. First pitch of Saturday's series-opening doubleheader has now been moved to 5 p.m.
Currently sitting in sixth place in the overall SEC standings, the Bulldogs (30-22, 10-13 SEC) will ride a wave of recent series success into their weekend series with the Gators (34-12, 13-5). The Maroon and White has captured wins in nine of the last 10 meetings with Florida, including both meetings last season.
