Men's Track 20th, Women 27th At NCAA Outdoor Championships

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State women's track tied its highest national finish ever, ranking 27th in the country at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Championships. MSU's men finished 20th in the country after ranking in the top five most of the outdoor season.
The women's 10 points are the most the team has scored at an NCAA championship meet in history. The 1989 team also tied for 27th in the country, scoring nine points.
State's men finished in 20th overall. The team was one of eight SEC schools in the national top 20. The 2003 squad scored the fourth-most points in school history at the meet with their 13 totaled over the four-day meet.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs have competitors in the 2003 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begin Thursday at Cobb Track & Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif.
