Bulldogs Second In The Country In Men's Track

The Bulldogs climb to a new high for rankings in school history. Auburn is ranked first in the latest release from Trackwire.com. Nine Southeastern Conference schools are ranked in the top 25 this week.
Head coach Al Schmidt's team boasts of 20 regional qualifiers on its roster and one national provisional qualifier. Sophomore LaChristopher Lewis has qualified in three individual events and two relays, leading all Bulldogs.
The sprint tandem of senior Pierre Browne and junior Marquis Davis kept their spots atop Trackwire.com's Dandy Dozen rankings in the 100m and 200m. Browne is rated first in the 100m, and Davis is second. Davis is tops in the 200-meter dash, while Browne is in second. State also has the top-ranked 4x100m relay team in the nation.
MSU runs next at the 2003 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set in Knoxville, Tenn., May 15-18.
