Lady Bulldogs In Ninth After First Round At LSU/Cleveland

Natalie Booth and Beth Irwin lead MSU. Both are in an eight-way tie for 22nd. Booth and Irwin fired a 78 in the first round and are only six strokes out of first place. Also participating for Mississippi State are Janet Dyer and Sofie Andersson who are currently tied for 30th and Anna Knutsson only one stroke back of Andersson and Dyer in 40th.
"We struggled with our putting today. We have made some adjustments this afternoon," head coach Christi Sanders said. "This makes about four or five rounds that we have hit better than our score indicates. We are going to hope for a better round tomorrow."
Host LSU stands atop the leaderboard with a 300 in the first day total. UNC Wilmington is five strokes back in second and the College of Charleston is in third with a 307. Devon Day of LSU, Jennifer Bridwell of Charleston, and Leah Hart of Augusta State are on top of the leaderboard in individuals.
The classic will continue tomorrow with tee time set for 9:06 a.m. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with tee time set for 8:36 a.m.
