Lady Bulldogs In Eighth At LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Mississippi State women's golf team shot a 309 on Friday at the par-72 University Club in Baton Rouge, La. The Lady Bulldogs stand in eighth place at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic after one round of play.
All five MSU golfers are within three strokes of each other in the individual standings. Junior Anna Knutsson, freshman Janet Dyer and freshman Beth Irwin each posted a 77 and are tied for 26th. Senior Anna Gertsson shot a 78 to tie for 33rd, while freshman Natalie Booth carded a 79 and is tied for 39th.
Auburn leads the tournament with a score of 290, while Auburn's Celeste Troche and Louisiana State's Meredith Duncan and Lindy Hitdlebaugh are tied for first in the individual competition, each player carding a 71.
Play resumes Saturday at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic and concludes Sunday.
