MSU Track Prepares To Host Bulldog Invitational
May 25, 2016 | Track & Field
Both the men's and women's teams are coming off of a nice weekend at the Alabama Relays. The Bulldogs took second place in Tuscaloosa while the Lady Dogs took fifth.
The men look to be led again by the sprint contingent, who have the top timed 4x100-meter relay team and the top 100m runner in the world currently. The relay team of Glenn McFadden, Marquis Davis, Dion Crabbe and Pierre Browne recorded their best 4x100m time (39.29) at the Alabama Relays last weekend. Also, the Toronto, Ontario, native Browne recorded the top outdoor 100-meter time (10.13) on Maddox Track at the SEC Quad March 16.
On the women's side, head coach Al Schmidt is looking for a strong performance from senior Camille Harper, an all-American last year in the 100 meters. Also looking to improve her times is freshman Tiffany McWilliams. The Red Bay, Ala., native is currently second in the SEC rankings in the 1500 meters and fourth in the 800 meters.
Action will start Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and the men's javelin at Spencer Stadium/Maddox Track. Other schools participating in the meet include Arkansas State, Indiana State and Middle Tennessee.
