MSU Track Opens Outdoor Season At Home In SEC Quad Meet
May 25, 2016 | Track & Field
This marks the first of four meets Mississippi State will host this season, culminating with the SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May.
For MSU's men, this will be the first time back on the track since tying for 9th at the NCAA Indoors in Fayetteville, Ark. The Bulldogs are playing host to two other top 10 teams from those championships in Alabama and Arkansas. Also competing in the meet will be the University of Mississippi.
The Lady Bulldogs look to be led by senior Camille Harper, who earned all-America honors last year in the 100-meter dash. Head coach Al Schmidt also will look for strong performances from the distance contingent, who had a good showing last time out at the SEC Indoors.
The men will be led by the sprint corps. Senior Dion Crabbe, junior Pierre Browne and sophomore Marquis Davis will all look to start their season strong after Browne and Davis' great showing last weekend in Fayetteville.
Field events will start at W.O. Spencer Stadium/Carl Maddox Track at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw. Running events will begin at noon.
