May 25, 2016 | Track & Field
Browne finished sixth in the 60-meter dash at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark., with a mark of 6.72. Browne placed fourth in Friday's 200 meter competition. The Toronto native is the first Bulldog ever to place in two events at the NCAA Indoors.
The Bulldogs took ninth place along with Oregon, making this the team's most successful national event in history. The 1976 indoor team tied for tenth at the NCAAs in Detroit, Mich.
We're really pleased to be in the top 10 in the NCAA, said head coach Al Schmidt. We are a much better team outdoors, so hopefully we'll improve on this.
With the indoor season complete, Schmidt's track squads prepare for the outdoor season, which will open Saturday, March 16 with the SEC Quadrangular at Spencer Stadium/Maddox Track on Mississippi State's campus.
