Lady Bulldogs Travel To Play In Green Wave Golf Classic

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi State women's golf team is set to participate in the 2002 Green Wave Women's Golf Classic in New Orleans, La. The tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5, at the par-73 Lakewood Country Club.

Senior Anna Gertsson, who finished tied for second in MSU's last tournament, the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational, leads the Lady Bulldogs into their second tournament of the spring season. MSU head coach Christi Sanders completes her lineup with freshman Natalie Booth, junior Anna Knutsson, freshman Beth Irwin and freshman Janet Dyer.

Joining Mississippi State at the Green Wave Classic are Campbell, Central Florida, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Georgia State, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi, New Orleans, Notre Dame, South Florida, Southern Mississippi, host Tulane and Alabama-Birmingham.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Each day will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
