Gertsson Places Tied For Second At Suntrust Lady Gator Invitational; Lady Bulldogs Finish Sixth

Senior Anna Gertsson finished in a five-way tie for second place in the individual competition with an 11-over-par score of 221. This marks the second time this season Gertsson has placed second in a tournament. Gertsson posted a 71 on the opening day of action, followed by rounds of 74 and 76.
Freshman Natalie Booth shot a 237 over the course of the weekend to finish tied for 37th, while junior Anna Knutsson carded a 238 and tied for 41st. Freshman Beth Irwin shot a 240 for the Lady Bulldogs and placed tied for 47th. Freshman Janet Dyer posted a 245at the tournament, good for a tie in 61st.
Host school Florida won the tournament with a score of 900, while Louisiana State's Meredith Duncan finished atop the individual?s leaderboard with a score of 214.
The Mississippi State women's golf team will travel to New Orleans, La., for their next tournament action, the Green Wave Classic to be held March 4-5.
