MSU Men's Golf 11th at SEC Championship

Codie Mudd led MSU with a 3-over 73 that placed the State sophomore in a tie for 22nd place.
Freshman Andrew Saft finished Friday's opening round with the second-best score on the squad. Saft, playing in his second career tournament, carded a 76 to stand tied for 37th place heading into Saturday's second round.
Senior captain Scott Shelton carded a 77 to tie with eight other golfers in 40th place, and redshirt freshman T.J. Washburn fired a 78 to end the opening round tied for 49th place.
Junior Jason McKenzie rounded out the starting five for head coach Greg Martin's squad with an 81 that placed him in a tie for 57th place.
State resumes action with Saturday's second round before closing the tournament with final-round play Sunday.
