No. 25 Bulldogs Welcome UAB In Weather-Altered Midweek

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off a tough weekend on the road, the No. 25 Mississippi State softball team (20-12, 1-5 SEC) will look to bounce back in a non-conference matchup with UAB (12-19, 4-2 C-USA) Tuesday at Nusz Park.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT, the anticipation of rain in the area moved the game up 24 hours to avoid a cancellation. First pitch is set for 6:04 p.m. CT.

Admission is free for all regular season games at Nusz Park.

LAST TIME OUT
State is coming off of being swept at No. 17 Tennessee in the Bulldogs' first Southeastern Conference road series of the season. A combined 19 walks and seven errors on the weekend allowed the Volunteers to consistently have runners on base throughout the weekend.
Junior Amanda Ivy went 8-for-15 vs. UT with four doubles, six RBI & three runs scored. Sophomore Carmen Carter has come on strong as of late, having gone 4-for-7 last weekend with three runs scored & one RBI vs. the Vols.
TEAM & PLAYER NOTES
· The Bulldogs are 33 in the second RPI ranking of the season, announced Monday, and will play a three-game Southeastern Conference series at home this weekend against No. 32 Ole Miss.
· MSU is 19-3 this season when scoring three or more runs and 16-4 when holding opponents to two or less runs.
· Junior Katie Anne Bailey leads MSU in batting average (.337), runs scored (21), hits (34), RBI (21) & total bases (46).
· State's pitching staff has a 1.82 earned run average this season which ranks fourth in the SEC and ninth in all of Division I.
· Ivy has reached base in 11-straight games which is the active leader among the Bulldogs. During the 2015 season, Ivy reached base in 25-straight games.
ON DECK FOR MSU
The Bulldogs will continue their five-game homestand with a three-game SEC series at home against in-state rival Ole Miss that will open Saturday, April 2 at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
