
Track & Field Continues Outdoor Season At Florida State Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fresh off an impressive showing at the Alabama Relays last weekend, the Mississippi State track and field teams turn its attention to Tallahassee, Fla., and the Florida State Relays.
“We're talking a lot of talented athletes to Florida State this weekend,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “Last weekend went well, but we are continuing to improve. Everyone has been working hard.”
Competition at the meet will begin on Friday at 8 a.m. CT with Brianna Smith making her outdoor season debut in the hammer throw.
Also throwing this weekend will be Haley Reynolds, competing in both the discus throw and shot put.
Sydney Rodkey will take on the pole vault on Friday, while Carl Pittman will represent the men in the event on Saturday.
Six athletes are set to appear in the long jump for MSU. Representing the women's team will be Erica Bougard and Leah Lott, while competing for the men's side will be Gralyn Jones, Willie Reed, A.J. Ward and Jaquarius Wilson.
Taking the track first will be Bougard, Lott, Tiffany Flynn, Ste'yce McNeil and Zaria Tillman in the 100m hurdles starting at 2:45 p.m.
Willie Reed, Ro'Derick Spears, Zachary Taylor and Wilson will take on the 110m hurdles for the men's team.
In her final season with the Bulldogs, senior Shayla Luckett will take on the 100m dash, as will Charles Taylor and Zachary Taylor.
Taking his first shot in the 800m run will be freshman Vince Castillo, while Kaelin Kersh and Madison Milhoan compete in the event for the women.
Four Bulldogs are set to partake in the 400m run including Dustin James II, Rasheed Tatham, Juston Waters and Kimari Martin.
Six distance runners are set to compete in two events. In the 2000m steeplechase will be Tristan Orman and Pierce Rose. JT Mackay, Branden Nosker, Zach Weaver and Kristy Terp will all participate in the 5000m run Friday at 6:35 p.m.
Making his outdoor season debut, Brandon McBride is set to take on the 1500m run along with teammates Caden Foos, Andrew Monaghan and Quintin Reiser. Shannon Fair and Mia Meydrich will compete on the women's side.
Both the men's and women's teams will compete in the 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay at the meet.
