STARKVILLE, Miss. – After earning sixth in the men's 4x400m relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships, four Mississippi State athletes receive First-Team All-American accolades, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday.
“Our team worked hard during the outdoor season and these men deserve this acknowledgement,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “I hope we can continue this momentum into the outdoor season.”
The foursome included Alfred Larry, Brandon McBride, Rasheed Tatham and Juston Waters posted a time of 3:06.30 Saturday night to earn their sixth-place finish. The time is the second-fastest time in program history.
This is Larry's second First-Team All-American Honor and McBride's sixth, while it is Tatham and Waters first time to receive the accolade.
Larry also earned Second-Team All-American in the 400m dash. He finished ninth in the event at the championships with a time of 46.64.
With the end of the indoor season, the athletes will begin the outdoor season with the Alabama Relays March 18 and 19 in Tuscaloosa.
