New Orleans, LA – Facing a quick turn around after the spring season opener, the Mississippi State women's golf team head to New Orleans to compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
The 17-team field is filled with tremendous talent, including six of the nation's Top 15 teams.
The prestigious English Turn Golf Club will play host to the tournament. The Bulldogs favor the course after finishing eighth overall a year ago. Junior Jessica Peng hopes to build off last year's performance, where she shot a team best 218 and finished fifth overall.
“This is one of the elite events of the season. The tournament brings in the nation's top teams each year,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “ Difficult weather and a lengthy course always make this event a tough one. We are learning and growing each week and look forward to this challenge.”
The Bulldogs will tee off on Sunday, Feb. 21, and concluded on Tuesday. Follow the tournament live on golfstat.com and keep up with in tournament updates on twitter @HailStateWG.
