Gavin Ware paved the way during the Bulldogs' 78-46 win against Arkansas with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Quinndary Weatherspoon also added 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking the first time this season two Bulldogs recorded a double-double in the same game.
Seniors Craig Sword and Fred Thomas added 10 and eight points, respectively, while Thomas became the 36th MSU player to eclipse the 1,000 point career mark.
Defensively, the Bulldogs (10-13, 3-8) forced 10 turnovers, recorded 10 blocks and limited the Razorbacks to 22 percent shooting. MSU also won the battle of the boards 50-39.
Georgia (13-9, 6-5) enters the weekend looking to bounce back from an 82-48 loss against Kentucky. Yante Maten lead the Bulldogs with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Georgia out rebounded Kentucky 36-34, but also committed 15 turnovers in the loss.
J.J. Frazier is the Bulldogs' leading scorer with 15.8 points and adds 4.2 assists per game. Maten hauls in a team-best eight rebounds per outing.
Georgia leads the all-time series against MSU 55-53. Although Mississippi State holds a 31-17 advantage at home, MSU is seeking to snap a three-game skid against Georgia in Humphrey Coliseum.
Following the Georgia matchup, Mississippi State will close a three-game home stand against Vanderbilt on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
