ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- St. Petersburg Bowl week has begun for Mississippi State football, which arrived in sunny 70 degree weather on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs took a 1.5-hour flight from Golden Triangle Regional (GTR) to St. Petersburg-Clearwater International (PIE). The squad went through its last home practice on Saturday and was able to get away to see family before meeting on Wednesday.
Thursday's schedule calls for a morning practice at Calvary Christian High School. Team captains and head coach Dan Mullen will then visit a local children's hospital, while the rest of the team will participate in "Fill The Bowl," a team competition to fill bags for under privileged children in the Tampa Bay area this holiday season.
The Bulldogs will have the opportunity to attend the Tampa Bay Lightning-St. Louis Blues NHL game on Thursday night.
