Bulldogs To Be Featured On SEC Network Eight Times In 2017

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Year six of the Vann Stuedeman era will once again be featured in the national spotlight, as the Mississippi State softball program will play in eight nationally-televised contests in 2017, the SEC office announced Thursday.
Of those eight, six will come within the friendly confines of Nusz Park, which is entering its second season after undergoing a $6 million renovation. The Bulldogs' first national broadcast will come on Tuesday, March 7 against Troy at home, a 6:30 p.m., first pitch on the SEC Network.
The Bulldogs will return to the national spotlight that weekend, as two of their three contests at Texas A&M will be featured on SEC Network (Saturday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m.). The contests are a part of SEC Network's "All Softball Weekend", exclusively airing the sport of softball on March 11 and 12.
Five of MSU's final six home games in the 2017 campaign will also be on SEC Network, including all three games of the Bulldogs Saturday-Sunday-Monday series against the Arkansas Razorbacks (April 21-23).
This year's schedule also features a three-hour "Bases Loaded" special during the final Friday of the regular season. MSU's May 5 contest against Kentucky will also be streamed in its entirety on SEC Network + via WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app. Streaming information for additional SEC Network + broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
The 2017 schedule wraps up with the 2017 SEC Tournament, which will be held in Knoxville. The SEC Network will air every first and second round contest, with the semifinals on ESPNU and the championship contest on ESPN.
Bulldogs Announce March 28 Contest At Southern Miss
In addition to the national television schedule announcement, Mississippi State softball has also announced an additional contest for the 2017 season against Southern Miss.
The Bulldogs and Golden Eagles will face off on Tuesday, March 28 in Hattiesburg. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT.
