STARKVILLE, Miss. – Looking forward to the 2017-18 season, Mississippi State women's tennis head coach Daryl Greenan announced the addition of a highly regarded prospect on Monday, as Magdalini Adaloglou from Veria, Greece, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog squad next fall.
Adaloglou comes to Starkville as the top-ranked junior player in all of Greece. The 5-8 right-hander is the reigning U-18 national champion in both singles and doubles, while being ranked as high as No. 349 in the international junior rankings. Adaloglou has represented Greece in the European Championships three times and will likely represent Greece again next summer. She has advanced to the final round in three singles tournaments (four in doubles), taking home the crown once in singles and twice in doubles at International Tennis Federation Junior events.
"We are excited Magda will be joining us next fall," Greenan said. "We were very impressed with her competitive level as well as her character on and off the court. She will fit in with our girls and team philosophy and we expect her to contribute immediately. We wish her the best during the next nine months as she prepares for her collegiate career."
