A second round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Texans, McKinney has started 16-of-19 games in his young career and is leading the team in tackles this season with 48 through five games. The Tunica native has also posted 5.0 sacks and one forced fumble this season, along with a career-high 16 tackles in Week 3 against the Patriots.
During his three years in Starkville, McKinney went from a two-star high school quarterback to a first-team All-America linebacker and became the program's first, first-team All-America linebacker since 1999. McKinney played in 39 games with 36 starts and amassed 244 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and six fumble recoveries.
Last weekend, MSU featured Raiders Denico Autry and Gabe Jackson outside of the Oakland Coliseum. The duo played together in Starkville during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, collecting Liberty Bowl and Egg Bowl victories in 2013.
A total of 12 Bulldogs are currently on active NFL rosters. Another two are on injured reserve and six others are on practice squads. All 20 of them played for Dan Mullen at State.
