October 11, 2016 | Football
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Former Mississippi State quarterback and current Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott continues to take the NFL by storm, appearing on this week's Sports Illustrated cover story written by Pete Thamel.
It is Prescott's third appearance on the cover. He first appeared in Oct. 2014 and then was on the magazine's 2015 college football preview issue.
The cover story takes a look at the preparation Prescott puts into his craft, from his early morning arrivals at the football facility to studying video at night.
Thamel writes, "In a way, everything at Mississippi State prepared Prescott for the events that led him to be the Cowboys' starting quarterback."
Prescott has guided the Cowboys to a 4-1 record. He has yet to throw an interception in 155 pass attempts, a new NFL rookie record. He's seven attempts shy of Tom Brady's record of 162 pass attempts without an interception to start an NFL career.
Prescott holds the NFL's second-best QBR according to ESPN (83.9), accounting for seven touchdowns and zero turnovers. He's completed 69 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,239 yards and four touchdowns.
Prescott and the Cowboys face Green Bay at Lambeau Field at 3:25 p.m. CT Sunday live on FOX.
