
Bulldogs Look To Get Into SEC Win Column At Florida

In their last outing, Quinndary Weatherspoon scored a career-high 23 points while Gavin Ware added 21 in the loss against the Volunteers. Ware also hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds, giving him his fifth double-double of the season.
The Bulldogs (7-9, 0-4) won the battle of the boards 40-31 and did not allow the Volunteers to record a steal, while forcing six of their own.
Mississippi State is looking to avoid its first 0-5 start in SEC play since the 1985-86 squad started 0-7. Florida leads the all-time series against MSU 62-49, with a 39-13 advantage in Gainesville. The Bulldogs are also seeking their first win in the O'Connell Center since a 68-59 win in 2008.
Florida (11-6, 3-2) used hot shooting early to hand Ole Miss its first loss in The Pavilion, 80-71. KeVaughn Allen paced the Gators with 27 points, including 9-11 shooting from 3-point range. Dorian Finney-Smith earned his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Finney-Smith leads the Gators with 13.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Defensively, the Gators hold their opponents to a league-best 64.3 points per game.
Following Tuesday's game, the Bulldogs return to Humphrey Coliseum to host in-state rival Ole Miss Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip.
