Chelsea Bramlett Named To 2016 SEC Women?s Legends Class

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Former Mississippi State softball player Chelsea Bramlett has been named MSU's 2016 Women's Legend, the Southeastern Conference announced.
The 2016 SEC Class of Women's Legends showcases former student-athletes, coaches and administrators from all 14 SEC member institutions.
A four-year NFCA First Team All-American (2007-10), Bramlett finished her senior season as a USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Top 10 Finalist (2010) after having finished as a Top 25 Finalist the two seasons prior (2008 and 2009).
“I'm just really honored,” Bramlett said. “I'm really excited that all of my hard work at Mississippi State is being recognized and I couldn't imagine a school I would rather be honored as a legend than MSU.”
Bramlett still remains MSU's career leader in batting average (.461), runs scored (219), hits (359) and stolen bases (207).
The three-time NFCA Catcher of the Year (2008-10) also owns Bulldog single-season records for batting average (.536, 2010) and stolen bases (61, 2010).
Her batting average of .536 in 2010 is the 10th highest ever recorded in a year in NCAA Division I history and helped her to be named the 2010 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic Player of the Year.
The class will be honored at the 2016 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament, March 2-6 in Jacksonville, Fla. Each legend will be honored during half-time of their teams first game of the tournament, all 14 individuals will also be honored as a group, as well as participate in an autograph session during the tournament. Complimentary posters of the Legends will be available at the session.
