Howland Announces Walk-On Tryout Date

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Year 1 of the Ben Howland era is in full swing, and current Mississippi State students wanting to trying out for a walk-on position will be given the opportunity on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. in the Mize Pavilion.
All interested students must submit their name, MSU ID and date of birth to Donovan Castro by email at ddc337@athletics.msstate.edu by noon on Monday, Sept. 21.
After eligibility has been determined by MSU athletic compliance office, those eligible to tryout will be required to go to the compliance office, located on the second floor of Humphrey Coliseum Sept. 22 between 2-4 p.m. or Sept. 23 between 10 a.m.-noon to pick up a tryout checklist.
Prior to the tryout, proof of insurance must also be submitted to Tammy Yeatman at TY@athletics.msstate.edu, while a medical physical that's no more than a year old needs to be provided to Mary McLendon at MMcLendon@athletics.msstate.edu. Participants won't be allowed to tryout if both documents aren't submitted. Both Yeatman and McLendon are located at the Holliman Athletics Training Room.
