August 18, 2015 | Softball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off its fourth straight season with an NCAA Tournament appearance, the Mississippi State softball program has announced its 2015 fall schedule.
With construction in progress on a brand-new $6-million facility project, the Bulldogs will spend the entirety of their fall season on the road.
“This is by far the toughest fall schedule that we have played since my arrival at State,” said head coach Vann Stuedeman. “We are looking forward to taking the show on the road this fall. I hope to see everyone at the ballpark. Wear your Maroon.”
State will open its fall slate on Sept. 20 in Cleveland, Mississippi at 2 p.m. CT against Division II power Delta State at University Field.
The action will continue one week later with a doubleheader at Troy that begins at 2 p.m. CT against former MSU assistant coach and 2015 Sun Belt Conference Co-Coach of the Year Beth Mullins and the 2015 SBC Pitcher of the Year.
Six days later the Bulldogs will begin a stretch of four games in three days as they travel to Tupelo Oct. 3 for a single versus in-state rival Ole Miss. Before the game, both teams will hold a free youth softball clinic and autograph session.
Oct. 4 MSU will be in Scooba, Mississippi for a twin billing against Southern Union State Community College and junior-college powerhouse Wallace State Community College-Hanceville at the East Mississippi Community College Softball Field. The first game of the day versus SUSCC will begin at noon CT, with the game against Wallace beginning 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
The Bulldogs will close their fall season with a game against Pensacola State College Oct. 5 in Pensacola, Florida.
