MSU Women Open 2015-16 Golf Schedule In Charleston
August 14, 2015 | Women's Golf
The Bulldogs, led by Coach Ginger Brown-Lemm and returning All-American Jessica Peng, play a total of four fall tournaments and five in the spring, including the SEC Championships April 15-17 in Birmingham.
"I couldn't be more pleased with our schedule, because it's a great mix of events we have been competing in from year's past, coupled with new events this season," Brown-Lemm said. "Our returnees should love it, while our freshmen will be challenged by it."
After traveling to South Carolina, the Bulldogs head to Big 12 country to play in the Schooner Classic in Norman, Okla., on Oct. Sept. 19-21. The Bulldogs won this event as a team with a tournament-record total of 818, while former standout Ally McDonald won at -13 under par.
Mississippi State then travels to Boerne, Texas, for the Jim West Challenge at the Tapatio Springs Hill Country Golf Course, slated for Oct. 4-6.
To close out the fall leg, MSU is back in Texas for the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio at Briggs Ranch Golf Club on Oct. 25-27.
"What I really like about our schedule is the different styles of courses we play," Brown-Lemm said. "That will prepare us for the postseason."
The Bulldogs head to Florida to begin the spring slate at the UCF Challenge played at Eagle Creek Golf Club on Feb. 7-9.
For the third-straight season, MSU will play in the All State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The three-day event will be played at English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans on Feb. 22-23.
Mississippi State returns to the state of South Carolina on March 4-6 to play in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, held at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head.
To close out the regular season, the Bulldogs make the trek to participate in the LSU Tiger Invitational March 20-22. Last year, MSU placed second at this event.
The SEC Championship will once again be held at Greystone Country Club in Birmingham on April 15-17.
NCAA regional play will be held at various locations May 5-7, while Eugene Country Club in Eugene Ore., will host this year's NCAA Championship May 20-25.
