Softball Facility Update ? July 17
July 17, 2015 | Softball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – With an expected completion date of January 2016, progress continues on the construction of the new MSU Softball Stadium.
A $6-million project in total, the new facility will have 1,000 chairback seats for fans, a new athletic training room, state-of-the-art video board in left field and numerous other enhancements. The facility will also host the 2016 Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Head coach Vann Stuedeman and other Mississippi State officials have met numerous times with ESPN and SEC Network officials to ensure that the new facility is built to the exact specifications that the television networks would like. Building to the specifications of the networks will make MSU's new stadium the first to be constructed in such a way.
“Every day there is something new to see,” said Stuedeman. “The dugout roofs are going up now and the locker room space is beginning to take shape. It is an honor to be part of building this stadium. I am extremely grateful to the MSU Athletic Department and the Bulldog Club for making this happen.”
The Bulldogs will open their brand new facility at 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 against Georgia Southern. State's fall schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
